Summer Reading Programs
Summer Reading Programs 2008:
Texas Reading Club Jubilee: 1958-2008

The program ran run from June 2nd to July 15th, 2008. There were 293 children who particpated in this program that was geared for toddlers and up to 11 years of age. There
were 115 who completed the requirements and read more than the requirements to receive the extra incentives.
On June 17, 2008 the first young Cooke County Library
patron completed the 2008 Texas Reading Club Jubilee: 1958-2008.

The #1 teen summer reader read 47 books!!!
This was the first time ever the Texas State Library sponsored a Teen Summer Reading. The program ran from June 2nd to July 15th, 2008. It was directed to kids aged 12 -18. There were 68 teens who signed up to compete for prizes that included gift cards from the Gainesville Factory Shops, Game Stop & Dichio's bookstore. 18 teens turned in sheets to complete the program. On 8/7/08 at 1 pm, in meeting room of the Cooke County Library,
the 18 teens who competed and turned in sheets had a
pizza party sponsored by the local Cici's Pizza.

They received their certificates and prizes.
Plus enjoyed each others company.
