Slow and steady wins the race! We watched a performance of the Tortoise and the Hare by The Story Time Theater today. Both tortoise and hare had their own way of training for the big race. We learned that hard work and the right attitude pay off in the end. Thank you to North Central Texas College for letting us use The Little Theater!
Are you still reading? Tay was our first participant to complete the children’s summer reading program! She received a certificate, a pencil, a puzzle ball, and a Chili’s coupon.
6/18/14: Ready, set, build! The topic for the third session of Literary LEGOs club was cars. They built a batmobile, a camper, an underwater car and more!
Thank you to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and the Friends of the Cooke County Library for your support of this program!
Our special performance today was “Dr. Flake-n-Stein’s Magic Laboratory.” We watched magic tricks and science experiments and made a few robot friends. We also learned where to find books on these topics in the library!
In observance of Family Violence Awareness Month, Kim from Abigail’s Arms read today. We learned about bullying. Then we colored pictures that represented friendship.
“Fizz, Boom, Read!” We kicked off our summer reading program today with Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Kim. We learned about our 5 senses by smelling, touching, seeing, listening, and reading.
Our guest, Grant Wilson read about the circus and the animals that are there. Ms. Kim taught us how big an elephant really is. Then we made lions with paper plates and macaroni noodles.
