STEMed Up – June 15, 2026

This week, we had our first STEM class of the summer! We learned about birds- the hows and whys of building nests. Then we paired off and participants used curiosity and collaboration to build their own bird nests using natural and manmade materials. When everyone was done, we tested the nests’ structural integrity using pretend eggs from Texas Parks and Wildlife. Everyone who came today received a nonfiction book to keep and a snack thanks to a 2026 Save the Children US Summer Reading Grant.
