Fall is here! With fall comes squirrels and leaves! Jane Dane from Lavender Ridge Farms read about friendly squirrels today. We learned what squirrels eat and what happens to an acorn if it gets planted. Then we made squirrel pictures and gave them a tail made of leaves!
Ms. Kim read to the children at Mrs. Karen’s daycare today. They read about. A dog who could make animal sounds but didn’t know how to bark. They each received their very own book. Thank you to the John and Sandy Schmitz Family for your support of this program.
Ms. Kim read to the Pre-k – 2nd grade classes at Sivells Bend Elementary today. The kids learned about manners, controlling your temper and tattle-tales. Then thanks to the John and Sandy Schmitz Family, each child was given a book to share with their families.
Last week the “1,2,3 the Story is Coming to Me” program visited Mrs. Terry’s Preschool. The theme was Pirates. The children learned about hidden treasure. They were each given pirate book to take home. Thanks to the John and Sandy Schmitz Family for your support of this program!
On 10/30/14, Ms. Kim visited the PreK students at Muenster ISD. She read about smelly dogs and bath time. The “1,2,3 the Story is Coming to Me” program allows the library to share it’s resources with the community and encourage the love of reading in its young children. We had fun celebrating Halloween with Cat in the Hat today. We read about monster mommys and spooky school busses. Then we walked on a spiderweb and played feed the monster. For our craft we decorated jack o lanterns using milk jugs, paint, and Halloween stickers.
The 1,2,3 the Story is Coming to Me program sent Ms Kim to Head Start today. She read about farm animals to the three year olds and animals to the four year olds. They loved making animal noises! Then they each were given a book to take home. Thank you to the John and Sandy Schmitz Family for your support of this program.
The preschool students at Valley View Independent School District were visited by Ms. Kim today as part of the library’s “1,2,3…the Story is Coming to Me” Ms. Kim read books about dinosaurs! Thanks to the John and Sandy Schmitz family, each child was given a book of their very own.
