Children’s Class November 7, 2017: a slithery visitor

Rick Torres from Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois – Texas Parks and Wildlife visited the library this morning. The kids enjoyed learning about the amazing and odd things animals can do with their tails, noses, feet, and other body parts. Ranger Rick also brought his friend, Cleopatra “Cleo”, a speckled king snake. We learned how to gently pet Cleo using two fingers. #CCLchildrensclass #snake#TexasStatePark

123 Ms. Terry

The “1,2,3…” program visited Ms. Terry’s Preschool this morning. The kids learned about library etiquette. Thanks to the Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association’s Operation Roundup each child was given a book to add to their home library. #123thestoryiscomingtome #communityoutreach 

123 Lighthouse

Yesterday Ms. Kim visited the children at Lighthouse Pre-School Gainesville. They read a story about bringing a circus to the library. The man with the yellow hat, Minnie Mouse, Superman and more joined in for Halloween fun yesterday morning. We rode our magic brooms and showed off our costumes. #CCLchildrensclass 

Edison GT Lightbulb Lesson

We visited Mrs. Linnell’s GT Class this morning at Edison Elementary. The kids learned about shadows. After a shadow puppet show they made 3D sculptures using foil. Then they traced their sculpture’s shadow. #CCLsteam #lightbulblesson 

123… Vilott Baptist Homeschool 

Yesterday the “1,2,3…” program visited the kindergarten students at Vilott Baptist Homeschool. Ms. Kim read a few of her favorite library books and told the kids about the great things at the library. This morning Angel from Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service – Cooke County taught us about germs and hand washing. We learned to wash our hands after touching her her germ friend.
