This morning in Art in the Stacks, the kids practiced blending paints to create new colors. They painted a palm tree on canvas. The leaves were painted with a fork for a fun texture.

Valley View Enrichment

Last week the library staff teamed up and visited the Valley View Enrichment group. They participated in Guinness World Record challenges. This was a great way to utilize critical thinking skills and develop new strategies to win the various challenges. #CCLcommunityoutreach #communityoutreach #EducateEngageEnrich

STEMed Up June 23, 2023 : World Record Breakers

Today’s STEMed Up class practiced drills that could get them into the Guinness World Record Book. They were really fast but not quite fast enough to beat any records. With practice they can get there!

-Who can build a Mr. Potato Head the fastest?
-Who can build a right angle tower the fastest using 20 LEGO blocks?
-Who can build the largest cup tower in 30 seconds?
-Who can build the tallest domino stack in 30 seconds?
-Who can stand on one foot the longest?
-Who can balance a book on their head the longest?

We also had a prize drawing for those who attended. Congratulations to our winner! Also thanks to the Friends of Cooke County Library for sponsoring this drawing!

This morning Aubrey Oaks Alpacas visited the library’s children’s class. The kids got to meet and greet the 3 alpacas on the library’s lawn.
