Art in the Stacks June 5, 2023 : Truman the Turtle

Today’s Art in the Stacks class painted turtles inspired by the book, “Truman” by Jean Reidy and illustrated by Lucy Ruth Cummins.

This lesson focused on using two forms of media: crayon and liquid watercolor.

STEMed Up May 22, 2023 : Oilspills and Density

123 the Story is Coming to Me May 4, 2023 : Donna R

Last week Ms. Kim finished this season of the “123 the Story is Coming to Me” program with a visit to Ms. Donna’s Daycare. The kids enjoyed books about cows and each received a book to take home.

Art in the Stacks April 24, 2023 : Kandinsky Paintings

Last week’s Art in the Stacks participants were inspired by the famous artist, Kandinsky. They created abstract landscapes using oil pastels and acrylic paint.

123 Mrs. Terry’s Preschool April 13, 2022

Mrs. Terry’s preschool children received a visit from the library’s “123 The Story is Coming to Me” program this week. They learned about wild animals!
Thanks to Jim Goldsworthy – State Farm Agent each child was given a book of their own about baby wild animals.

We had a full house Tuesday for our morning children’s class. This week we read books about baby chicks. These kids are not only having fun but also learning language and social skills as they interact with Ms. Kim throughout the program.
