Today’s classes read about zoo animals. One of the books Ms. Kim read was “Good Night, Gorilla”. This books has very little words so the kids helped tell the story by looking at the illustrations.
This week in Art in the Stacks Ms. Kaylee taught the kids how to paint a jellyfish. They mixed and blended acrylic paints to bring this sea creature to life.
We read a candy classic at Kayson’s Candy Company yesterday. The kids enjoyed “Curious George goes to the Chocolate Factory” and played with rhythm sticks.
At Chick-fil-A Gainesville (TX) (Gainesville, TX) on Monday morning, Mrs. Kim read books about friendship. The kids also made friendship bracelets. Stringing beads is an excellent way for kids to develop fine motor skills, and it’s fun too!
We will offer two 10:30 children’s classes for the first two Tuesdays in August. This gives the school-age kids more age appropriate stories to listen to while also not overcrowding the little ones.
August 9 is Smokey Bear’s 80th birthday! We celebrated his birthday in July and learned about fire safety. The little kids made a map so they can go on an imaginary bear hunt while the older kids made animal stick puppets.
