We love story time at Chick-fil-A Gainesville (TX) (Gainesville, TX). This week we read about bugs. Ms. Kim taught us the ASL sign for “bug” so we could interact during the book each time we saw a bug.
Monday’s Art in the Stacks class painted cactus. They learned how to mix acrylic paints to make new colors. They practiced mixing colors on their plate before painting, then practiced mixing the colors as they painted on the canvas.
Literary LEGO built their own unique creations this week. They were challenged to build anything but a house! Houses are always a popular choice so we wanted to give them a challenge.
Building Tots Session 2 finished today. They learned about color last week and practiced counting today. This class gives the opportunity to learn through play alongside other peers.
Session 1 of Building Tots wrapped up this week. The kids learned about colors and counting throughout these two classes. They also experienced parallel play with other friends as they built towers, trains, and robots.
On Tuesday, the kids took an adventure around the world during our children’s classes. The younger kids made a suitcase craft while the older kids made a passport to stamp their travels.
At Chick-fil-A Gainesville (TX) (Gainesville, TX) on Monday, we read about nature walks and exploring our own surroundings. Then we made sunshine collection bags for our next nature walk.
We took a nice stroll at Jaycee Park this morning for our first in-person Storywalk®. Be sure to stop by and read this month’s book. It will be there all of June!
Thanks Kayson’s Candy Company for sponsoring the Storywalk® in honor of National Candy Month!
