Story time at Chick-fil-A April 14, 2025

Spring is here so we read about birds this week at Chick-fil-A Gainesville (TX) We were encouraged by baby birds learning how to fly for the first time, and explored how a hummingbird flies.

We read about rainy weather this week with Ms. Cymre. We also listened to an anthology of favorite rainy weather songs for children and learned the ASL sign for rain.

Sacred Heart Montessori Outreach April 7, 2025

To celebrate the Week of the Young Child, the library visited the Montessori students at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Mrs. Kim read books about humming birds and the kingfisher bird to add to the students’ bird theme.

Sacred Heart Artwork Display

The Sacred Heart Catholic School Montessori created artwork to display at the library. Come in through Saturday April 5th to see it.

The pre-k class practiced the art of fish printing or “gyotaku” and the kindergarten class made 3-d paper flowers.

“123…” Mrs. Terry’s Preschool and Lil Leopards Learning Centers

We finished the “123…the Story is Coming to Me” season this week with visits to Mrs. Terry’s Preschool and Lil Leopards Learning Centers.

Each child was given a book of their own to create their own home library thanks to the generous donation of a local sponsor.

Art in the Stacks March 13, 2025: Gumball Machines

The Art in the Stacks class painted mixed media gumball machines on Thursday. They practiced blending liquid watercolor to make light and dark colors. They also discussed placement of their artist’s signature. Many decided to hide their signature in their artwork instead of the traditional corner placement.
