Art in the Stacks April 28, 2025

This week the Art in the Stacks class painted duck paintings. They discussed analogous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel) and practiced making their paints darker and lighter.

Valley View Enrichment

The library visited the Valley View after school Enrichment group. Ms. Kim read a mystery picture book. Then they discussed ways detectives might try to solve a mystery. They practiced making their fingerprints and looked at how each one is unique.

Sivells Bend Artwork display

The students from Sivells Bend Isd created spring chick artwork to display at the library. Students in grades PK-2 took a field trip to the library to see their display. They also got a library tour, story time and built with LEGOS so they could see all of the great things the library has to offer.

Bilingual story time April 16, 2025: Superheroes

The bilingual class read books about superheroes today. There are heroes all around you, all you have to do is look.

Are you ready for the upcoming stormy weather this weekend? The kids are! They made their own stormy weather collage and used rhythm sticks to make the sounds of rain and thunder.

Children’s Class April 8, 2025: Rain

We read about rainy weather this week with Ms. Cymre. We also listened to an anthology of favorite rainy weather songs for children and learned the ASL sign for rain.

Sacred Heart Montessori Outreach April 7, 2025

To celebrate the Week of the Young Child, the library visited the Montessori students at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Mrs. Kim read books about humming birds and the kingfisher bird to add to the students’ bird theme.
