Summer Reading Challenge Completed!

Summer is officially here! Summer reading sign ups started and we held our first summer class! The Art in the Stacks class created sun paintings. This class was geared towards younger artists. We discussed washing and drying our paintbrushes and learned how to mix colors.
On 5/27/25 Ms. Kim read 2 stories about outdoor adventures. In one story, a bear took an adventure from the forest to the city. In the other, a cat took an adventure from the city to the forest. In the end, they both wanted to be back home.
Ms. Cymre read about adventures under the stars.
Whatever the weather, there are always great books to read! We read about wind and big storms. We also practiced counting and colors.
April winds are blowing so we read books about wind! We used scarves to wave in the sky like wind.
This week the Art in the Stacks class painted duck paintings. They discussed analogous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel) and practiced making their paints darker and lighter.
The library visited the Valley View after school Enrichment group. Ms. Kim read a mystery picture book. Then they discussed ways detectives might try to solve a mystery. They practiced making their fingerprints and looked at how each one is unique.
