StoryWalk® Event June 6, 2025

Today we held our in-person StoryWalk® event. Ms. Kim and attendees walked through Jaycee Park to read the June book. Summer Reading Challenge Completed!

Congratulations to our first two Summer Reading participants to complete their summer reading challenge! They read 35 books to complete the program. This program is made possible thanks to a 2025 Summer at the Library grant from the Texas Library Association and H-E-B. Art in the Stacks June 2, 2025: Sunshine Painting

Summer is officially here! Summer reading sign ups started and we held our first summer class! The Art in the Stacks class created sun paintings. This class was geared towards younger artists. We discussed washing and drying our paintbrushes and learned how to mix colors.  

Children’s Classes May 27, 2025

On 5/27/25 Ms. Kim read 2 stories about outdoor adventures. In one story, a bear took an adventure from the forest to the city. In the other, a cat took an adventure from the city to the forest. In the end, they both wanted to be back home.  

Art in the Stacks April 28, 2025

This week the Art in the Stacks class painted duck paintings. They discussed analogous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel) and practiced making their paints darker and lighter.

Valley View Enrichment

The library visited the Valley View after school Enrichment group. Ms. Kim read a mystery picture book. Then they discussed ways detectives might try to solve a mystery. They practiced making their fingerprints and looked at how each one is unique.
