On Thursday 3/30 Ms. Kim visited the pre-k children at Era ISD. Ms. Kim read her favorite books about birds. Then the class introduced her to their new favorite book.

On Wednesday the “123…” program visited the pre-k classes at Valley View ISD. Ms. Kim read books about birds and springtime. Each child was given a bird book to add to their home library.

The STEMed Up class built paper airplanes on Monday. This taught them critical thinking skills and how to read instructions. Some of the planes flew fast, while some sailed long distances.
On Tuesday, the children’s classes read a book about garden gnomes. Then they participated in an interactive book to grow some magical flowers for spring.
Last week the library visited the Boys and Girls Club of Cooke County.
On the tween side, the kids learned about the origin of the game “Rock, Paper, Scissors.” They participated in a character-building exercise to think about their unique strengths and interests they can take with them when entering challenging parts of their day.
The youth side got a presentation about the library using Mrs. Kim’s “magic bag,” which told them about the various resources at the library. They were excited about all of the great books!
On Friday, Mrs. Kim read to the Tiny Trails Childcare Facility preschool kids. The “123…the Story is Coming to Me” program provides a unique early literacy experience to the children in our community. The goal is to provide interest and excitement for books and learning. This program also gives each child a book of their own.

On Wednesday, March 22, the Cooke County Library’s “123 the Story is Coming to Me” program visited the children at Claude Jones Daycare. The kids listened to Mrs. Kim’s favorite library books and learned about the library.
